Well what to say about sweet Mr Ranger? He's a whole lot of love, a big snuggler, a Velcro type dog He makes a great couch and bed heater, and can curl up really small to fit on the couch. He's goofy, loves balls and plays a mean game of soccer by himself! He gets a bit of the zooms. We have a very long hall and he will start in the living room, over the couch, down the hall and back up carrying his ball!
He really is goofy when you take him outside he sniffles like a pig on the ground, He will also wake you up snuffling you're face, very cute.
Ranger loves his walks and walks nicely on leash, although squirrels will distract him and he may try to go after them. It's not been a huge problem. Ranger has a lot of energy. And would do great with a big fenced backyard. He would probably enjoy running with someone, hiking, maybe fly ball?
Ranger does have a few issues we are working on, he can be a bit protective of toys and counter food with the other dogs and cats. A bit of growling, but he listens to redirection well. He also is a bit mouthy when he is really excited.
Once again telling him no and stopping the play will stop the behavior. He crowds at the door when someone comes or you are leaving but I don't think he is a flight risk he just wants to either see what's going on or try to come with you. He whines when we leave but no other real separation anxiety that we see. As far as the other dogs he is just so big that he sometimes overwhelms Emmie although they do play in the yard, Lily is jealous and they like the same toys so they are not best friends but they do okay together.
He is perfect with the cats, sniffs them occasionally but nothing else, Ranger in my opinion is a very sweet, nice, big dog. He is the best snuggler and very sweet, I think he would do well with someone active , looking for a dog to play with, hike with, maybe try some sort of ball games. He would do well with dogs about his size, otherwise he can play a little too rough, even though he doesn't mean too.
I think he would be fine with older kids, he's super friendly but kind of a bull in a China shop. I think anyone would be lucky to have Ranger he truly is just a sweet young dog who has silly habits but will grow or be trained out of them.
We are loving having him and on those cold days he is such a warm cuddler! Oh as a bonus he has a beautiful golden tint to his fur on his sides. And a northern dog looking tale, He also talks like a northern dog at times. He comes highly recommended from me!
