Mick
8/22/12 UPDATE on Mickey!! Mickey found his forever home in September of 2009. Mick's Mom writes:
Here is Mickey now – what a great dog! He and his buddy Sophie are inseparable! They do everything together. We picked up Mickey when he was around a year old. He was painfully shy and didn’t know much about socializing. He is the sweetest boy and just loves everyone. He is very special.
9/2010 UPDATE
Mickey has been with us close to a year – he is a gentle soul. Mickey is the happiest dog we have ever had and is a joy to have as ours. His buddy Sophie (a rescue herself who is three years old) welcomed him with open paws they are the best of friends and are we like to say are “tight”…one has to know where the other is. Mickey came to us painfully shy and underweight. He now weighs 35 lbs and has a great appetite for food and life. He loves his car rides and loves his back yard. Loves to ride in the car. He still plays ball but now he can bring it back but still maintains that BC herding stance while he is waiting. Mickey has also taken to our cat and will go give her kisses. Mickey is and always will be a cuddlier – he waits for me to put the blanket on the couch for TV time relaxing and will stay there all night with you just to be close. Mickey just completed his obedience training last night so it was graduation for him (which is the picture I am attaching) and of course in the BC way passed with flying colors. He is a happy guy and has managed to win our hearts. Thanks to Maggie for nursing him and his brother through their Parvo illness when they were little, he is quit the survivor. Ed & Judy
Mac
Mac (McLaren) is doing great! His picture is posted on the CBBCR Facebook page.
Marty
We refer to Ben as our little sweet guy.
He is only 30 pounds but boy can he demand some loving.
He has never met a stranger - 2 or 4 legged.
He is full of energy and loves to play with all of his toys.
We love it when he climbs into his toy basket to decide which toy he will play with next.
We would like to thank the Nason family for fostering Ben and giving him a great start.
I think they would like to know that Ben now loves to ride in the car and no longer gets sick (Yeah!!)
Mirnan
Murphy is doing great! He is loved completely, gets along wonderully with our other dogs. He has competed in several fair competitions-- agililty and obedience and has many ribbons-- several 1sts though 6th. We are thrilled that his timidness has been resolved-- he is trusting and very loving. We couldn't be happier!
Molly
Molly is, of course, an absolute delight. Very healthy, except for some fatty masses. She has slimmed down and gets plenty of exercise. She walks well on a leash and we take her for walks every day. As you may recall, we wondered about the length of walk she could handle. Well, she does 3 miles with ease now. If she is becomes overheated while walking, she will simply stop and lie down- not in physical distress, she is just letting us know. This has only happened twice, as Annie and I are easily trainable.
> Annie had been working with her with the ball. At first, it would bounce off her head. Now, she can easily catch or retrieve it. She does not yet always return the ball, however.
> She can be in the yard without the leash, altho we have to watch her closely. But she now listens to commands and will stop, if she starts to run after another dog. She also still barks at other dogs outside, if she is inside. But we are working on both of these.
> She is a very loving dog, and well-loved in return. Annie is her alpha dog, of course, and Molly tracks what she is doing very closely. She is not left alone for any length of time, although she has not shown any signs of anxiety from being alone, other than sadness.
> Annie asks me to tell you that she has been thinking of you often and would like to visit this fall, perhaps on the way to Ann Arbor.
