Chloe *

Happy Tails Update!!! Jon and Jenny adopted Chloe in April of 2016. Since then, they have shared many adventures. Chloe first had a sister named Killer, who was anything but her namesake. Killer was a sweet, gentle dog, and that made her a good match for Chloe. When Killer died in March of 2017, Jenny and Jon started to look for another dog for Jon. Chloe was always meant to be "Jenny's dog." It was hard to find another that was gentle enough for Chloe, but soon they found Kali. Kali's name is due to her nature as a "goddess of destruction." Kali destroys toys and household items readily, and although she can be rough when she tries to play with Chloe, she is tolerable to Chloe most of the time. Chloe often likes to tug with Kali and roughhouses back to match her energy. Kali helps keep Chloe fit. Jenny, Chloe, and Kali walk for an hour every day. Jenny just got a new job at a local kennel and will be taking both dogs to work with her every day. Jenny looks forward to sharing her office with her best friend, Chloe. Chloe has been on many trips. Some include floating in Steelville, MO; a beach trip to Michigan City to the dog friendly beaches; Cheshire Inn for Christmas time; Mammoth Cave for hiking; St. Joe for the Solar Eclipse; Springfield, MO for Missouri State's Homecoming; and Boonville, MO to the Fredrick Hotel for a family wedding. Chloe has been a wonderful part of Jenny and Jon's family. Her gentle and calming nature are always positive influence! Jenny Thanks for sharing Jenny

Champ

Happy Tails Update!!! Hello, My name is Lacey and I wanted to send an update on my best friend Champ who was adopted from Come Bye Border Collie Rescue through Gina in December 2010. My email is prompted because Champ turns 11 on 09/16. Champ competed in agility for a few years after his adoption. Agility helped Champ and I bond, it was most valuable for Champ as it built his confidence and was a great outlet for nervous energy. Champ has now retired from agility. Champ loves long walks in the neighborhood and especially on the bike path where he can go off leash when other humans aren't around. He has EXCELLENT recall and stays close while he independently explores the area. Champ also adores the balls he plays with in the back yard. Occasionally a ball will join us on our walks - we get a lot of smiles when Champ carries his ball around. In 2013 Champ and I moved to Chicago, and when I purchased a home in the suburbs it was important that Champ have his own special place. In our home, Champ has his own bedroom with sliding doors to a large deck and fenced back yard. When Champ tires from playing with his ball he will lounge on the deck and monitor the backyard. Finally, it is easy to forget that Champ came to us with Addison's Disease. His Addison's has been managed well with a daily steroid and regular injections I give him at home. I look forward to many more miles and days with Champ as we go forward. I am immensely grateful to Champ's foster (Gina). Gina has a huge heart and accepts all dogs and loves them as if she couldn't possible love anything more. Thank you Gina and thank you Come Bye Border Collie Rescue - I love Champ! Thanks for sharing Lacey :)
